Options to choose from face to face, online or blended learning methods.
Positive Learning Experience
Engaging learning sessions are delivered ensuring that learners are getting the support they need.
To provide more flexibility to the way you learn, REACH for Training offers some courses in a number of delivery methods.
Classroom Based
All training is undertaken in the classroom with a group of
students and a REACH Trainer or Assessor. It is a face-to-face
delivery and requires for you to attend regular classes to undertake
the course work. Although class-room based training is primarily
completed within a classroom it may also include practical field
trips and/or work placement.
Mixed-Mode Training
Training is undertaken through a mix of face-to-face and
blended (online components and face-to- face components) learning.
If you are studying by mixed-mode, you will have access to a REACH
Trainer or Assessor to assist with the course work. Although
mixed-mode training is primarily completed outside of the classroom
it may require some classroom based learning or face-to-face
practical exercises to be undertaken.
Work-Based Training
Training is completed through a work training program or an
Apprenticeship or Traineeship. Students completing study through a
work training program may be required to attend classroom-based
training or undertake mixed-mode training as determined by their
employer. Students undertaking an Apprenticeship or Traineeship will
complete their course work under a national training contract. students undertaking an Apprenticeship
or Traineeship will be released from their normal work duties to
receive training, to be assessed and to meet with their REACH
Trainer or Assessor.
How Government Subsidy works
Government funded vocational education and training (VET) in
Australia is funded by the Commonwealth and State and Territory Governments.
State and Territory Governments are responsible for the delivery
of VET services and provide recurrent appropriations for VET through annual budget
cycles.
REACH for Training has taken an initiative to participate in
various State and Commonwealth Government subsidised programs.
- New South Wales: Smart and Skilled
- Western Australia: Jobs and Skill WA
- Australian Capital Territory: Skilled Capital
The subsidy from the government is paid direct to the training
provider.
The student pays a portion of the qualification price (known as
the “student fee”).
Fees and Concessions
Fee Information
In accordance with applicable Commonwealth and State legislation, REACH for Training is entitled to charge fees for items or services provided to students undertaking a course of study. The fee may vary depending on the course that you are enrolling in, the funding available for that course, the delivery method and whether you are eligible for a concession. Generally, course fees are used to cover the cost of items such as course
materials or text books, student services and training and assessment services. For more
information please view our Course Fees, Payment and Refund Policy located in
the Student Information Handbook Information Handbook.

to complete your study and achieve your goals. Students have a number of flexible
payment options that include up-front payments, pay-as-you-go or tailored payment plans.

while looking after a family can be hard. To assist students to fulfill their family and
study commitments, REACH can provide students with information on childcare options in
the local community. It is also important to check if you are eligible for the Federal
Government Child Care Subsidy. For more information on the Child Care Subsidy, please
visit Department of Human Services.

Skills Recognition
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer is an assessment
process designed to identify and assess the prior knowledge and skills of a student. It
includes assessing previous and current education and training, work and life experience
and knowledge.
How to Apply for an RPL?
When enrolling in a course, students are asked to indicate if they would like to
apply for RPL or Credit Transfer on the Application/Enrolment Form. Once a student has
completed the enrolment process, they will need to complete the Application for
Recognition Form and supply relevant evidence to their Trainer or Assessor.
For more information on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer
please refer to our Learner Handbook.

Existing Worker Traineeships and therefore REACH must

The Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (Apprenticeship
Network) replaced Australian Apprenticeships Centres
nationally on 1 July 2015.
The Australian Government is investing up to $190 million
annually in the Apprenticeship Network to make it easier for
employers to recruit, train and retain apprentices and
better support individuals to succeed in the proven earning
and learning pathway apprenticeships provide.
A total of 11 Apprenticeship Network providers will deliver
support services to employers and Australian Apprentices*
from more than 420 locations nationally, including in rural
and remote areas.
Apprenticeship Network providers will provide advice and
support services tailored to the needs of employers and
apprentices throughout the apprenticeship lifecycle – from
pre-commencement to completion – through:
- Universal services for all employers
and apprentices, providing essential administrative
support, payment processing and regular contact; and - Targeted services for employers and
individuals assessed as needing additional support to
complete the apprenticeship.
New pre-commencement services including screening, testing
and job-matching will be available to targeted clients to
get the right apprentice in the right apprenticeship with
the right employer.
New targeted in-training support services, such as mentoring,
will help apprentices and employers at-risk of not
completing the apprenticeship arrangement to work through
issues and difficulties.
Apprenticeship Network providers can also provide assistance
to individuals who may be unsuited to an apprenticeship to
identify alternative training pathways.
